Parents

Dear Parents,

Thank you for visiting our Zeta Tau Alpha website. We hope that you'll take a look around and learn more about our wonderful Fraternity for women.

ZTA was founded on October 15, 1898 at the Virginia State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia. As a national Fraternity, we now have 191,000 initiated members, 148 active collegiate chapters and 260 alumnae chapters across the country.

So why have 191,000 women chosen to become members of Zeta Tau Alpha? Each one probably has a different answer. But we believe the primary reasons are:
       • a lifetime of friendship
       • opportunities to serve others
       • leadership growth
       • a commitment to high academic and personal standard

A ZTA collegiate member experiences friendship from the very start. In her first six weeks as a new member, a Zeta will learn about the Fraternity through Zeta Is Forever, the first-year link in Member Enrichment Program, and be matched with a Big Sister to help her feel at home. Other links to follow and help members as they go along are: Second-year/Leadership, Third-year/Wellness, Fourth-year/Transition, and Fifth Link/Alumnae World.

Our Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation is the philanthropic and fund raising arm of the Fraternity. The ZTAF leads our efforts in breast cancer education and awareness, provides $275,000 in scholarships annually, and sponsors educational and leadership opportunities for our members and others. The Foundation also funds the AlcoholEdu for College Program for all of our new members.

We are so very proud of all of our collegiate and alumnae chapters, our programs and our service. The tabs along the top of our pages lead you to additional information about our organization, chapter, history, involvement, alumnae, calendar for upcoming events, and philanthropy.
