The insignia of Zeta Tau Alpha are symbols of great meaning and importance to the Fraternity. They are a heritage from the past, significant because of what Zeta Tau Alphas believe. Many insignia have secret meanings that are revealed during the Initiation service. In order that the insignia of the Fraternity may be protected from imitation and to insure that only those who have the right to wear it may have access to it, the Fraternity selects authorized jewelers to handle orders for all official Fraternity jewelry.
Turquoise blue and steel gray were chosen by the founders as the fraternity's colors to embody the dreams and vision of the "little band of nine".
The white violet was chosen as a symbol of the high ideals of our founders and an emblem of purity.
As a gift to Cammie Jones from a secret admirer, the strawberry represents the first ever social event of the fraternity.

The 5-pointed crown is an official symbol of the Fraternity. Its significance is revealed during the Initiation process.


The patron goddess of Zeta Tau Alpha is Themis, the Greek goddess of divine justice and law.
The frog was chosen as the local symbol for the Kappa Pi Chapter.
